Additional Info
Technical Information | NEENAH TECHNI-PRINT® EZP Papers are designed for both fuser oil and oil-less laser printers and copiers. They are for the heat transfer of photos and images to light colored T-shirts, sweatshirts, mouse pads, coasters, puzzles, handbags, binders, pad folios, paper, leather, magnets, wood veneer, nylon and more. Choose garments that have a tight weave. This is particularly important when transferring to sweatshirts.
PRINTING TRANSFER: 1. Mirror the image. 2. Load the paper so that the image will appear on the coated side of the paper. 3. Paper should be fed into the copier or printer with the short dimension first (grain long). 4. Adjust media setting of your printer. Start with “Labels” setting. If toner does not fuse completely, adjust to a heavier paper weight setting such as "Heavy or Glossy". DO NOT OVER SATURATE PAPER. Consult your printer's user guide for paper weight settings. 5. Trim away the unprinted areas of the transfer if desired. TRANSFERRING: Using a Commercial Heat Press Only (No Hand Iron). 1. Pre-press your garment 5 - 10 seconds, insuring surface is clean, dry and wrinkle free. 2. Place the transfer sheet face down on the substrate and press: 25 seconds at 375oF using medium to heavy pressure. 3. Peel the backing paper while still hot in a smooth even motion. 4. For best “Hand” lightly stretch garment while still hot. For best color, cover image with parchment paper and repress, peel hot. * If you peel paper cold — Repress at same temperature covering image with parchment paper for 15 seconds. Peel transfer paper while hot.
HAND IRON TRANSFER: See instructions below.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS: turn garment inside out and wash in cold water using a mild detergent, do not use bleach, machine wash ONLY. Dry on low heat setting. Do not iron directly on the transferred area.
STORAGE AND HANDLING OF HEAT TRANSFER PAPERS: Store heat transfer paper in a cool, dry area and do not remove from carton or poly bag until you are ready to use.
Instructions for applying heat transfers with a hand iron
1. Preheat iron to highest setting. Do not use steam. Empty iron of all water.
2. Iron on a smooth hard surface. The surface should be waist level or below. Do not use an ironing board. Place a pillowcase on the surface and iron the pillowcase to remove any wrinkles.
3. Put the garment on the center of the pillowcase and iron it to remove wrinkles.
4. Trim away excess unprinted areas of transfer.
5. Place the transfer with the image side touching the garment; place an ironing sheet on top.
Full Sheet Transfer
1. Using 2 hands and very heavy pressure slide the iron up and down (vertically), as shown in the diagram below, for 90 seconds making enough passes to completely iron the shirt (2) two times.. The iron should be halfway off the edge when the edges are ironed.
2. Using 2 hands and very heavy pressure slide the iron side-to-side (horizontally), as shown in the diagram below, for 90 seconds making enough passes to completely iron the shirt (2) two times. The iron should be halfway off the edge when the edges are ironed.
Paper Removal
3. Peel the pressing paper off the image immediately after it has fully cooled.
* For hand ironing cold peel is recommended with an additional step to re-iron with pressing paper on top and stretch while hot. This provides the best hand and improves wash durability.
Smaller Transfers
4. For smaller transfers of one-half sheet or less, the ironing time is reduced to 45 seconds horizontally and 45 seconds vertically. If transfer area is smaller than the iron, iron for 30 seconds with heavy pressure.
